On Monday just after 8 p.m., the Family Dollar a few blocks away at 1130 N. Main St. in Dayton was robbed of $93 at gunpoint, police said.
According to a Dayton police incident report, a store employee said a man showed a black semi-automatic hand gun and demanded cash from a register. The suspect was described as a black, about 5-feet-5 inches tall and 160 pounds to 200 pounds. He looked to be about 40 years old, and wore a blue sweat suit and a hat, according to the incident report.
One employee believed the suspect is the same man who robbed the 1130 N. Main St. store in January.
The robber fled across the parking lot and east along Helena Street toward Riverside Drive. Dayton police were told there were customers in the store but that the robbery was only witnessed by two employees. Officers were reviewing store surveillance video.
There was no description immediately available stemming from the Tuesday night robbery, but the sheriff's deputy on scene would not say whether the sheriff’s office believes the same suspect knocked off both locations.
