Fire at Kentucky steel plant prompts shelter-in-place order for residents

A chemical fire at a Kentucky steel company has prompted a shelter-in-place order for residents in the areas of Ghent to Markland Locks and Dam, according to our partners at WCPO-TV in Cincinnati.

The fire is at Steel Technologies LLC prompted the order Monday morning, according to a Gallatin County dispatcher, the station reported.

It’s unclear at this time what caused the fire.
