Fire was quickly extinguished Sunday afternoon at a two-story home on South Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Crews were dispatched just after 5 p.m. to the 800 block, where all occupants were able to make it out safely.
The homeowner told the Journal-News a mattress had caught fire.
Police blocked South MLK Boulevard while crews were working to extinguish the fire.
