“I think people’s lives are stabilizing, and our numbers are reflecting that, but there are always people in need,” said Lee Lauren Truesdale, chief development officer. “There are thousands of families in our area who have a crisis everyday and it might not be because of the coronavirus, but we are responding to those everyday crises, too.”
The Foodbank is planning on serving 2,500 today.
During a mass food distribution at the Nutter Center in April, the The Foodbank served 1,400, making it the largest food distribution in its history.
Vehicles shouldn’t start lining up for the drive-thru food distribution until 10 a.m.
There is a limit of two households per vehicle, and carpooling is encouraged for people who are in regular contact.
The Foodbank asks that the trunk or back seat of the vehicle is left empty so that staff and volunteers can limit person-to-person contact as much as possible.

Vehicles should enter the Nutter Center parking lot from Col. Glenn Highway and North Fairfield Road.
The food distribution will take place in Lot 8 behind the Nutter Center.
Anyone in line on Raider Road by 2 p.m. will be served, said Truesdale.
Police will be at the event to help direct traffic.
