Police: Man drops drugs trying to flee from Dayton officers

A 23-year-old Dayton man faces drug charges following his arrest Thursday afternoon on Oakridge Drive in Dayton.

Nikita Payne White was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of trafficking in drugs, possession of drugs, both felony charges, and misdemeanor obstructing official business. He also is accused of a possible parole violation, according to online jail records.

He is due Friday afternoon in Dayton Municipal Court.

Dayton police arrested a man on an outstanding warrant Thursday, but not before he tried to run.

Police chased the suspect down in the area of Oakridge Drive and Ardmore Avenue around noon and used a Taser to take him into custody.

The man dropped suspected drugs while running from officers, police said.

According to Dayton police, the man had an outstanding warrant for weapons under disability and now could face additional drug charges.

The suspect was taken to the Montgomery County jail.
