Fort Hamilton reaches deal with Aetna, other carriers

HAMILTON — The parent organization of Fort Hamilton Hospital reached an agreement with Aetna after the hospital’s contract with the insurer expired at the end of last year.

Fort Hamilton started accepting Aetna — which provides health benefits to approximately 1.1 million members in Ohio — again under the new contract Sunday.

Fort Hamilton also now accepts insurance from Anthem Senior Advantage, Anthem Medicare Preferred, Blue Medicare Access and Humana, which it didn’t before, according to Kettering Health.

Kettering Health rolled Fort Hamilton onto its network agreement, said Bob Jackson, Kettering Health spokesman. But it had never stopped accepting patients with Aetna, and offered Aetna members a discount while the agreement was being finalized. “It’s kind of a seamless situation,” Jackson said.
