Franklin council approves tentative contract with firefighters

After an executive session that lasted almost an hour, Franklin City Council on Monday approved a tentative agreement with the International Association of Firefighters Local 3642.

Council voted 5-0 to approve the tentative agreement.

Law Director Donnette Fisher said the tentative agreement will go to the four-member union of full-time firefighters for their approval.

Details of the tentative agreement will not be made public until the firefighters vote on it later this week.

Fisher said the tentative agreement was reached July 12 and has to be approved by council and the union within 14 days.
