The city will host a free tire recycling event on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at Fire Station 83 on Woolery Lane.
No concrete-filled tires or metal rims allowed. Tires must be removed to be accepted. According to the Ohio Revised Code, a maximum of 10 tires may be transported at one time.
Movie in the Park
On Aug. 24, the city will show Disney Pixar’s “Coco” at Meadowbrook of Clayton on Salem Avenue. The movie will start at dusk, about 8:30 p.m.
This event is free to the public, and there will be free popcorn and water. Those who attend are asked to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
Labor Day fireworks festival
On Sept. 2, the city will host a community festival with fireworks at the Meadowbrook of Clayton on Salem Avenue. The festival starts at 7 p.m. and fireworks will be at 9 p.m.
The city will provide popcorn, sno-cones, cotton candy, face painting and a bounce house. There will be a performance from the Northmont Acapella Group.
Government Academy
The city still has room in its Government Academy that starts on Sept. 5 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the city building, located at Taywood and Old Salem Roads.
The 20 residents who participate will have a chance to ask questions of representatives of the police, fire, service, development and administration departments.
Open house
The city will host a Fire, Police and Service Department Open House at the Government Center on Oct. 2 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Those who attend will get a chance to see police and fire equipment, talk with crews and ask questions.
