The fire was reported around 2:45 a.m. behind a house in the 300 block of East Third Street, per initial reports.

At least six fires have been reported in the same area since July 30, involving detached garages and multiple vehicles.

Last week, a suspicious fire was on North Gray Avenue to which crews from Greenville, Greenville Twp. and New Madison responded to extinguish a fully engulfed garage, according to our news partner the Early Bird newspaper.

The fires have yet to officially be ruled arson, and though they appear to be suspicious, no confirmations can be made until investigations are completed.

Further details on the East Third Street detached garage fire were not immediately available.
