Oakwood pool to open this weekend

Gardner Memorial Pool in Oakwood is scheduled to open Saturday with guidelines aimed at keeping members safe during the coronavirus pandemic.

The pool’s new hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day. The pool will limit occupancy to 125 people at any given time, excluding city staff.

Due to the limited occupancy protocol, general guest passes will not be available.

Members can use the pool by reservation only. There will be four timed sessions a day in which members can go online or call in to reserve a spot.

Sessions are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., 4 to 6 p.m. and 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Breaks between each session will be used to sanitize the facility, including all faucets, soap/paper towel dispensers, toilets and other high-touch surfaces.

Social distancing will be practiced throughout the pool area, including between deck furniture, restrooms and showers and in line and on-deck.
