Government Academy open to participants

The fifth Piqua Government Academy will kick in February.

The academy format is being changed to a module set up where participants can choose which experiences in city government they would like to explore. Participants can participate in up to six modules. They are: administration and communication, public safety, utilities, infrastructure, finance and technology and citizen participation.

Each module will consist of three or four sessions over a six-week period. The academy will conclude with a December 2014 graduation.

Participants can register on-line for the program through the city website at www.piquaoh.org, by clicking on the Piqua Government Academy logo. Applicants can also register by contacting William Lutz, development program manager at (937) 778-2062. Registration will close Feb. 1.
