Parks & Rec offering summer camps

The city of Beavercreek Parks, Recreation & Culture Department is offering summer day camps for children ages 6-12 at Rotary Park, 2260 Dayton Xenia Road.

Camps run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Early drop-off from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. and late pick-up from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. is provided at no extra cost. A field trip each Wednesday also is included in the weekly fee.

The resident fee is $110 per week and the non-resident fee is $125 per week. Pre-registration is required.

The themed weeks are: June 15 (Where the Wild Things Are); June 22 (Mission Into Space); June 29 (Sports Extravaganza); July 6 (Splashin’ Around); July 13 (Be a Hero); July 20 (We are the Champions); July 27 (Buggin’ Out); and Aug. 3 (Best of the Best).

Women’s Hall of Fame seeks nominations

The Greene County Women’s Hall of Fame is currently seeking nominations through June 30.

Members of the community are encouraged to submit nominations for outstanding women who deserve recognition in their home county.

This year’s Recognition Day luncheon will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, at Walnut Grove Country Club.

Nominees must be either native-born Greene Countians or currently residing in the county with at least a 10-year residency.

Nominations may be made by an individual or an organization by completing the nomination form and returning it to Greene County Women’s Hall of Fame, PO Box 703, Fairborn, OH 45324, along with a $5 fee.

Parks & Rec offering summer youth camps

The City of Fairborn Parks & Recreation Division is offering summer youth camps for ages 6-12 years old from June 9 through July 30.

Camps consist of either three half-day camps, which cost $25 per child, or one full-day camp, which costs $15 per child. All camps are held at Community Park, 691 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road.

A total of eight camps will be offered. Participants will need to bring a filled water bottle. Those attending full day camps should also bring a packed lunch.
