Greenville man, 69, injured in motorcycle crash

A Greenville man was taken to a hospital after he crashed his motorcycle Wednesday night in the 2500 block of Hollansburg-Richmond Road.

Joel Schinke ,69, was riding his motorcycle north on Hollansburg-Richmond Road around 7:15 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve, according to preliminary investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s office. He went off the right side of the roadway, lost control and ended up in a yard.

Schinke, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered minor injuries. MedFlight initially was called, but was canceled.

Schinke was taken to Wayne ER, the release said. His condition is not known at this time.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in crash, which remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
