Dog rescued, no one injured during fire in Harrison Twp.

UPDATE @ 8:25 p.m.: 

No one was home or injured during a house fire Sunday night in the 4100 block of Fer Don Road, according to Darrin Wiseman, Battalion Chief of Harrison Twp.

A dog was found in the home and rescued with no injuries.

When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke throughout the neighborhood and a house that was on fire.

Firefighters "quickly got into action" due to reports that there were people in the house, Wiseman said.

The initial search found no one in the home and the fire in the basement.

The family can't stay in the home overnight due to the fire damage, Wiseman said.

The cause and damage estimate is unknown at this time.

FIRST REPORT:

Heavy smoke was reportedly showing from a house Sunday around 6:55 p.m. in the 4100 block of Fer Don Road, according to Montgomery County Regional dispatch.

Crews searched the house and found the fire in the basement.

Additional engines were also requested, dispatchers said.
