Hit-skip accident in Dayton sends motorcyclist to hospital

A motorcyclist has been taken to a hospital by private conveyance after his bike was believed to have been hit by a vehicle that left the scene, Dayton police said.

Dayton police and a medic unit were sent to the 400 block of Dearborn Avenue about 4:25 p.m. on a report of a vehicle accident involving a motorcycle.

When police arrived, the motorcyclist was not at the scene and they learned the person had been taken to a hospital by private conveyance.

Police also learned the vehicle that hit the bike continued north on Dearborn, toward McCall Street. Police told us they believe the vehicle is a blue Pontiac Grand Prix.

The motorcyclist suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to police who remain on scene, trying to interview people who may have seen what happened. Witnesses said the motorcyclist is a male.
