Hospice needs volunteers to bake a cake or hold a hand

LEBANON — Warren County Community Services’ RSVP program has partnered with Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties, an affiliate of Hospice of Dayton.

Relying on RSVP’s work in matching individuals 55 and older with local volunteer opportunities, Hospice will better serve families needing hospice care in Warren County.

A new volunteer training class, hosted by RSVP, will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 15 at The 741 Center, 570 N. Ohio 741.

Orientation is from 9 a.m. to noon, and the Caring Angels class (for volunteers directly serving patients) is from 1 to 5 p.m.

Volunteers will receive training and learn more about available volunteer opportunities.

Those wishing to assist with crafts or make Memory Bears are not required to take training.

Volunteers are needed for the new Lorelei Care Center in the Renaissance Professional Village close to the Atrium in Franklin.

Hold a hand. Use a computer. Bake a cake. Listen to cherished memories. Give a hug. Touch a heart.

There are numerous opportunities available including:

• Care center ambassadors

• Companionship visitor

• Crafters

• Gardening and maintenance

• Office assistants

• Receptionists

• Memory Bear creators

• Theme day servers

To attend the volunteer training, register by Monday, Oct. 12, by calling (513) 695-2252 or e-mail dolceeh@wccsinc.org. Lunch is provided.
