We will start out today with mostly cloudy skies and a chance of showers and thunderstorms, a chance that will linger into the afternoon before trailing off into the overnight house, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. It will also be a windy day, with gusts as high as 23 mph expected.

The high today will bear near 89 degrees, although the NWS warned that high humidity will push the heat index values up closer to the low to mid-90s.
Tonight we will see a slight chance of showers and storms in the early night hours, but otherwise skies will be mostly cloudy. Temperatures will fall to around 70 degrees.
Tomorrow, though, we will see some sun, with a high near 90 degrees, though again with humidity pushing the heat index a few degrees higher.
The NWS predicted a slight chance of some rain in the evening, and then rain chances slowly rising in the early hours of Saturday. Low temperatures will fall to around 71 degrees.
Saturday we will see some chance of rain the whole day under partly cloudy skies. It will again be hot and humid, pushing the heat index up into the mid-90s from initial high temperatures of around 90 degrees.
Saturday night we will still have a slight chance of rain all night, though skies will be mostly clear, with a low of around 75 degrees.
