How Butler County is continuing to help those devastated by tornadoes

Middletown continues to respond to those impacted by Memorial Day tornadoes in the Dayton area.

Six members of the city’s Public Works Department volunteered to assist tornado victims on Monday and Tuesday.

Middletown received a request from Bill Pittman with Symmes Twp., who is coordinating groups to help out with the disaster cleanup in the Dayton region. Middletown’s volunteers: Mike Horrall (Streets Leadman), Bill Adkins (Equipment Operator), Ron Koelblin (Equipment Operator), Dana Wysong (Equipment Operator), Matthew Hale (Maintenance Worker) and Jeff Phillabaum (Equipment Operator).

The donations collected by the Middletown Division of Police have been dropped off and one more load will be delivered Tuesday. The collection was spearheaded by police officer Brandon Ramirez.

The city used a trailer donated by Serve Pro to deliver the numerous skids of water and food items that were provided by area residents and businesses. The items were delivered to the Brookville Fire Department, the Hara Arena area and a church in Trotwood.

Some of the water was donated by Wal-Mart and the local Burger King.
