On an 80-degree day, the temperature inside a car can climb to nearly 100 degrees in 10 minutes.
The temperature can go to more than 100 degrees in 20 minutes and to a boiling 123 degrees within an hour.
One mistake made is thinking a rolled down window will help to keep a car cool. Unfortunately, it's not enough to counteract the greenhouse effect that allows the inside of a car to heat so quickly.
