Huber Heights seeks new businesses with pop-up program

Huber Heights is looking for new pop-up businesses seeking space to run temporary shops.

The new program aimed at assisting new small business owners is called SureStart Huber Heights. It is a program of the Huber Heights Chamber of Commerce.

“SureStart offers them a minimum of three months to try and get their business up and running,” said Mark Bruns, chamber executive director.

The program matches small business people with property owners with available commercial space.

Property owners are required to lease the storefronts below market value.

“It’s a great opportunity for the entrepreneurs and innovative people who have a good idea to start up a business, but maybe they need a little assistance on that initial overhead investment on getting a location,” said City Manager Rob Schommer.

The deadline for the program is 5 p.m. Wednesday. Contact the Huber Heights Chamber of Commerce for more information at 937-233-5700.
