Hundreds attend Marine Toys for Tots campaign

Hundreds of people showed up to the Marine Corp Toys for Tots campaign Sunday.

U.S. Marines and the public both volunteered their time at the warehouse distribution center, 2208 Sandridge Dr., to help children.

The distribution center has built up donations of toys for the last two months to assist children in need, said Darren Mumm, Gunnery Sergeant of the U.S.

Mumm says many families show up to collect or donate a toy.

“Historically, the campaign seasons have served in the Dayton area, which is Greene and Montgomery counties, roughly 15 to 20 thousand children,’ he said.

The donation website is shut down right now, but donations are still welcome at distribution centers for the next two weeks until Dec. 13.

Donation locations can be found on the Dayton Toys for Tots website or Facebook.
