WEST CHESTER TWP. — IKEA is calling all chefs and foodies to come out for a “Food-As-Entertainment” experience.
On Nov. 13, Food University, presented by “Family Circle,” is presenting celebrity chefs Caprial and John Pence to teach kitchen basics. Co-hosts of American Public Television’s Caprial & John’s Kitchen: Cooking for Family and Friends and authors of “Caprial & John’s Kitchen: Recipes for Cooking Together,” the two will discuss the importance of local produce, the power of using spices to boost flavor and ideas for quick and delicious appetizers as well as tips for easy entertaining.
The public is invited to the free event from 2 to 4 p.m. to learn new recipes and cooking basics from culinary experts who will cut, slice, mix, prepare and entertain.
No registration is required.
“Our readers, the moms of tweens and teens, are cooking more at home to save money and spend more time together with their families,” stated Diane Papazian, publisher of “Family Circle.”
“One of our most popular online features at familycircle.com is our recipe section because so many people are looking for healthy family recipes and have questions about using the right ingredients. Our relationship with IKEA and Food University gives us the opportunity to help people feel more comfortable in their kitchens and improve their lives,” Papazian said.
In addition to the seminars, chefs will be there to answer any questions or provide specific advice to people seeking to elevate their knowledge of food.
IKEA believes that the kitchen is the heart of the home and their kitchen planners will be in attendance supporting IKEA’s commitment to helping consumers improve their homes as well as their lives, organizers stated.
