1 injured when pickup truck smashes carport of a home in Trotwood

UPDATE @ 6:02 p.m.: Trotwood police aren't saying anything about the circumstances involving a pickup truck that smashed a carport attached to a house in the 5100 block of Wolf Creek Pike.

The homeowners tell us the male driver busted through a guardrail, got out of the wreckage and knocked at their front door.

They said they didn’t let him in and that he looked to be intoxicated. The homeowners were not injured.

They said the carport was put up about three months ago and there was a parked vehicle beneath it that was damaged as well.

FIRST REPORT

The driver of a pickup truck has been taken to a hospital after crashing into the attached garage of a residence in Trotwood.

Police and a medic unit were dispatched to the 5100 block of Wolf Creek Pike about 4:12 p.m. on a report of an injury accident.

The driver has been taken to Good Samaritan Hospital.
