On the utility’s Facebook page, it said that the boil order wasn’t due to a main water line break, but due to a de-pressurization in the system. It added that the boil order is not for every region the JRWA covers.
The JRWA serves Jefferson, Miami and Jackson townships, along with the cities of Germantown, Trotwood, West Carrollton, Moraine and Miamisburg.
The City of Miamisburg took to social media to say that it is aware of the boil order but it is outside the city. The author of the tweet seems to believe the order is due to a water main break, however.
The City is aware of a water main break with the nearby Jefferson Regional Water Authority. Please be aware that City of Miamisburg water customers are NOT affected by any boil advisory that may be issued due to this break. pic.twitter.com/t9yFvvTo6Z

We have reached out to the JRWA for more information on the scope of the boil order and the cause, and will update this story when we have heard back.
