Dayton area’s newest Tropical Smoothie Cafe is now open

Troy location is operated by one of the restaurant chain’s ‘Franchisee of the Year’ award winners

The Dayton region's seventh Tropical Smoothie Cafe is now open in Troy.

The area's newest Tropical Smoothie is located at 2309 W. Main St. in Troy, and it is the second cafe launched by an operator who won one of the restaurant chain's "Franchisee of the Year" awards earlier this year. Tim Poulos was named "Single-Unit Franchisee of the Year" in March for his performance overseeing the Tropical Smoothie restaurant at 233 E. Home Road in Springfield. The  other five Dayton-area cafes are operated by other franchisees.

The new restaurant’s hours are Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The new Troy cafe seats about 50 and will employ 35 to 40,  Poulos told this news outlet in October.

Troy “is a very vibrant and growing community,” Poulos said at the time. “I chose this location in Troy because of the high amount of businesses and retailers within close proximity.”

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is “a healthy alternative. We have smoothies made with real fruit and vegetables,” the franchise owner said.

The cafe’s menu will include wraps, sandwiches, flatbreads, and quesadillas in addition to the chain’s signature smoothies. The new Troy cafe also will offer catering. For more information, contact the Troy Tropical Smoothie Cafe at (937) 703-1418.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe officials said they expect to sign 200 franchise agreements, open 130 cafes, and grow same-store sales by 5% in 2019.
