Young appealed the first sentence, and an appeals court said that he was sentenced incorrectly. The court ruled that some of the 17 charges against him should have been merged into single counts.
Young continues to maintain his innocence, but the judge reduced his sentence to 63 years to life. Young still has the option of appealing the sentence again.
