SANDUSKY, Ohio (AP) -- Ohio sister amusement parks Kings Island and Cedar Point are already selling tickets for the coming season and are offering discounts for customers who buy online.
A one-day adult ticket bought on Cedar Point's website will cost $7 less than at the gate. Kings Island visitors will get a $17 discount for each adult, one-day ticket purchased online instead of at the park.
Theme park consultant Dennis Speigel say that the two-tiered pricing shows that parks have become more familiar with the Internet. The president of International Theme Park Services Inc. in Cincinnati says the web is driving a lot more ticket sales.
Cedar Point, between Toledo and Cleveland, and Kings Island, north of Cincinnati, are both owned by Sandusky-based Cedar Fair LP.
