Kroger to offer full benefits to transgender employees

The largest grocery store chain in the country announced that it will now extend its health benefits to transgender employees.

Kroger will begin offering transgender workers full health benefits starting next year, according to our news partner Dayton Daily News.

Benefits will include surgery and drug therapy for gender reassignment as part of its employee health plan, according to Forbes.com.

Kroger employs about 400,000 workers across 2,500 stores. It’s the fifth-largest private employer in the U.S.
