109 vets on last Honor Flight of the year

109 veterans were on the last Honor Flight of the year.

FIRST REPORT:

The public is invited to come to the Dayton International Airport by 9:30 p.m. tonight to welcome the Honor Flight veterans who are due to arrive at 10:30 p.m.

Honor Flight Dayton announced that 100 WWII, Korean, and Vietnam veterans will see the memorials built in their honor tonight, according to a release.

“The Dayton International Airport is proud to be the host Airport and work with Honor Flight of Dayton in this great opportunity to honor our veterans,” said Terrance C. Slaybaugh, Director of Aviation for the City of Dayton.

Once the veterans arrive, a Military Guard of about 200 USAF personnel will welcome them by forming a symbolic Honor March to accompany the veterans from the arrival gate to the Honor Corridor, read the release.

The Honor Corridor will be lined by the Color Guards of the United States Air Force, Air Force Junior ROTC, and the Miami Valley Young Marines. The entire corridor will be lined by additional military groups.

Complimentary beverages and snacks will be provided to those who attend.
