Coroner ID’s man who died in Dayton crash

UPDATE @ 2:30 p.m.:

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office has released the identification of the person who died after a two-vehicle crash in Dayton Saturday.

Alvin Williams, 69, of Dayton died at the scene of the crash on Salem Avenue and Philadelphia Drive, according to the coroner’s office.

Next of kin was notified and an autopsy will be performed Sunday.

Dayton police say the head-on crash resulted in the driver of the other vehicle being transported to Miami Valley Hospital.

The driver’s condition is unknown at this time, but officials believe they will be okay.

The crash remains under investigation.

FIRST REPORT:

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office were requested to the scene of a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred on Salem Avenue and Philadelphia Drive Saturday night.

Officials can confirm that at least one person has died as a result of the crash that was dispatched just after 8 p.m.

Individuals in both vehicles involved were trapped upon arrival, officials said.

One person was transported an area hospital on unknown conditions.
