Neighbors reported seeing a bolt of lightning and smoke coming from the building a short time later.
There were no injuries, but the building sustained heavy damage.
Fire officials believe the fire could be weather related, but are still investigating.
Fletcher and Covington departments provided mutual aid to Piqua crews.
