Xenia Veteran James Given, U. S. Coast Guard (Retired) and his service dog Rundle

A Xenia Veteran will be presenting a donation of the Order of the Purple Heart to 4 Paws for Ability next week.

James Given, U.S. Coast Guard (retired) will present the Order of the Purple Heart and the Humanitarian Service Medal that was awarded during his service and will be on display at 4 Paws to thank the organization for the gift of his service dog, Rundle.

The presentation will take place at the next 4 Paws graduation, where 14 service dogs will be graduating with their children, at 2:30 p.m. June 21 at 207 Dayton Ave., Xenia.

4 Paws local veterans with their service dogs also will be in attendance of the graduation.

Rundle assists Given with behavior disruption (lap, nuzzle, touch, kisses and deep pressure), stand/brace, retrieval and bark for help.
