Man accused of touching 4-year-old girl inappropriately at Harrison Twp. dry cleaner

A 57-year-old man is facing sex charges after he allegedly touched a 4-year-old girl inappropriately inside a North Main Street dry cleaner business.

James Allen Brown was indicted Wednesday on two counts of gross sexual imposition involving a child younger than 13, records show.

Brown is accused of entering Fox Cleaners, 4333 N. Main St., Dec. 9 and approaching the girl, who was inside the business with her family.

“Brown was observed by an eyewitness at the business reaching his hand under the child’s clothing, specifically inside the back of her pants and touch her (buttocks) on two separate occasions,” according to court records.

Detectives said Brown admitted to kissing the girl on her check/lip area of her mouth and also admitted to picking her up. Brown told deputies he put “his hand on her bare skin underneath her coat and clothing, to keep her from falling/slipping,” court documents read.

According to detectives, “He admitted it’s possible his hand went partly down the back of her pants.”

Brown is scheduled for arraignment on Dec. 27.
