Man arrested in connection to fatal Trotwood apartment complex shooting to be released

Trotwood police said the 21-year-old arrested in connection to the shooting death of Alexander Rhoads will be released from custody pending further investigation.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting in January at a Trotwood apartment complex, according to police.

Daylequan Shemar Arnold Sr. was arrested by Trotwood police Tuesday in connection to a Jan. 27 shooting on Autumn Woods Drive.

The victim, later identified as Alexander Rhoads, 19, of Trotwood, died from his injuries after he was transported to an area hospital.

Arnold remains booked in the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of aggravated murder, according to jail records.

Trotwood police arrested Daylequan Shemar Arnold Sr. Wednesday afternoon at the Dayton Police Safety Building, according to records. Arnold is facing a preliminary charge of aggravated murder.

It is not immediately known which crime Arnold’s arrest is connected to.
