According to the man, he was driving his pickup through the intersection at Belvo Road and Heincke Road around 9 p.m. when he heard a loud crash in the back. The man also noticed a car with a few teenagers inside speeding in his direction around the same time as the shooting occurred.

“I’m not sure what happened. I think somebody shot out my back window of my pickup truck as I came through Heincke and Belvo roads here down from the high school”, the man said to 911 dispatchers.

Though the man was not hit when his window was shot out, he was determined to find out who did it. The man’s daughter posted photos on Facebook showing how bad the damage was to the truck, as well as to ask for help to identify the perpetrators.

“Not something I would think would happen in our town”, Miamisburg resident Ed Diehl said, while also calling the incident “unexpected”.

Though Miamisburg residents are shocked that something like this would occur in their town, they are not the only ones dealing with instances as such. Not even 24 hours later, another person posted photos in the same Facebook group claiming someone also shot their windows out while they were driving their kids to school in Sugarcreek Twp.

Officials in Miamisburg and Sugarcreek Twp. are investigating the incidents and believe the weapons used were possibly BB guns, though they do not have confirmation.

No injuries were reported in either case and police are asking residents to keep an eye out for anything suspicious.
