Man flown to hospital after being pinned between truck, loading dock

HAMILTON —A Kentucky man had to be flown to a hospital after his leg was pinned between a truck and loading dock at a local industrial complex.

Dennis Carter, 65, of Independence, Ky., was pinned to a loading dock shortly after 6:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at AIC Contracting, 12 Kiesland Court. An unmanned truck coasted backward, pinning Carter’s leg to a loading dock where the truck came to rest, according to the Hamilton Police Department. Police indicated the truck either belonged to or had recently been driven by Carter.

Carter was flown via medical helicopter to University Hospital in Cincinnati. As of Tuesday afternoon, his condition was not released by the hospital.

It is believed Carter is not an employee of AIC, which provides materials and services for all types of commercial flooring.

A representative of AIC Contracting declined to comment.

The incident is being investigated by the local branch of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
