Man found hiding in tree after fleeing Dayton police

UPDATE @ 1:03 p.m.:

Dayton Police arrested two men Monday morning, following a traffic stop on Germantown Street.

Javelle Floyd and Darrion Ojezua were both arrested and charged with multiple crimes including: receiving stolen property, falsification, obstructing official business, having weapons while under disability and improper handling of a firearm.

Both suspects are currently in custody at the Montgomery County Jail.

A man was found hiding in a tree after fleeing from Dayton police early Monday morning.

According to authorities, they were made aware of a suspicious vehicle at the Shell gas station on the corner of Germantown Pike and South Gettysburg Avenue just before 2 a.m.

When police arrived on scene to check out the suspicious circumstance, the driver and sole occupant inside the vehicle fled on foot on Germantown Pike toward Dayton-Liberty Road.

Following a foot pursuit, authorities lost sight of the driver, prompting a K-9 unit to be requested to the scene.

The man, whose name was not released, was found hiding in a tree in a nearby wooded area a short time later.

Medics were called to the scene for the suspect, who was reportedly having chest pain.

He was transported to a local hospital, but will be taken into custody on unknown charges after receiving aid.
