Man gets 9 years for setting restaurant fire

A Franklin man will spend seven years in prison for his role in a fire that destroyed a local restaurant.

Terry Cragg, 23, pleaded guilty to aggravated arson and burglary charges.

Prosecutors said Cragg, Caleb Ward and Steven Dean set fire to Smith’s Bistro in Franklin last October. The fire set off a huge backdraft explosion that put several firefighters in danger.

Dean and Ward are scheduled to be sentenced next month on charges of burglary and safe-cracking.
