Man questioned in teen's stabbing death

Police in Dayton are investigating after a 14-year-old boy was found dead in front of a senior living community over the weekend.

Officers said an RTA bus driver discovered the teens body. At first, the driver thought the boy had been shot. However, officers later discovered the boy had been stabbed near the Stratford Place Apartments on Gunther Avenue late Saturday night.

The teen was identified as Mister Martin-Sydnor.

According to police, they are questioning James Heflin Jr., 67, in connection with the stabbing death. Heflin was booked into the Montgomery County on charges of murder and felonious assault.

According to friends of the victim, the teen was with some friends walking around the apartment complex when the man got into an argument.

Dayton Police are still investigating.
