Man sentenced in meat cleaver attack

A Butler County man will spend 10 years in prison for attacking his girlfriend with a meat cleaver, and the victims said that is not long enough.

Prosecutors said Robin Chester was high on drugs when he slashed the victim 35 times with a meat cleaver, nearly cutting her left hand in half.

Chester pleaded guilty to attempted murder.

The victim said 10 years was not enough, but prosecutors point out that she visited Chester in jail and wrote him letters.
