Mayor Whaley recognized as outstanding public official

Mayor Whaley is being honored for her leadership through several Dayton crises, including the Memorial Day tornadoes and Oregon District shootings.

She is the youngest woman ever chosen for a commission seat and was elected as mayor in 2013.

Her focuses have included community development, manufacturing, women and children, and a commitment to public service, civic involvement and local government.
