Rear-end crash in Darke County sends one driver to hospital

A rear-end crash Tuesday afternoon sent one driver to a hospital.

According to preliminary investigation, a 2016 Buick Encore driven by Gail Farmer, 70, of New Madison was stopped in traffic around 3:30 p.m. on U.S. 127 in the north lanes waiting to turn west onto Grubbs Rex Road when a 2007 Dodge 2500 truck driven by Dale Dennull, 56, of Eaton, struck Farmer’s Buick in the rear, the Darke County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Farmer was taken to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton by Tri Village Rescue. Her condition was not available.

Dennull refused treatment. The crash remains under investigation.

A medical helicopter was requested after a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 127 north of Castine in Darke County Tuesday afternoon.

NORTHERN BUREAU: Serious crash reported on Troy-Sidney Road in Piqua

The crash was reported at the intersection of U.S. 127 and Grubbs-Rex Road around 3:45 p.m.

Additional details were not immediately available.
