Miami County child rape charge dismissed

TROY - A felony rape indictment against a Piqua man accused of rape of a child under age 10 was dismissed by Miami County prosecutors with the stipulation a new charge can be pursued.

Robert T. Daniels Jr., 32, pleaded not guilty to the felony charge following arrest in December by Piqua police. He was accused of sexual conduct with a minor in November and December.

County Prosecutor Tony Kendell said an expert witness needed in the case was not available.
