Miami U. nursing program up for accreditation

HAMILTON — Comments from current students, nursing professionals and others are sought as the Miami University Department of Nursing pursues accreditation.

The department is up for an initial review by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education for accreditation of the baccalaureate of science program in nursing, including the RN-BSN completion option, university officials said.

The commission invites written and signed third party comments from communities of interest that are affected by the department’s programs, which include current students, members of the university community, local and state nursing professional organizations and practicing nurses who work with students. Comments will be accepted until Sept. 10, which is 30 days before the accreditation visit.

The evaluation team will consider all comments in their review of the program, but comments are not shared with the department.

Comments may be sent to the following address: Commission on Nursing Education, Attn: Amanda Brownbridge, Accreditation Assistant, One Dupont Circle, NW Suite 530, Washington DC, 20036-1120.
