Middletown Lyric Theatre season starts with musical comedy

MIDDLETOWN - The Middletown Lyric Theatre will kick off its 33rd season today with the Broadway hit musical “Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?”

The musical follows eight children during their Catholic elementary and high school education in the 1950s and captures the funniest moments of youthful growing pains and the trying moments of adolescence, set against the background of Parochial school education.

Organizers said whether patrons know anything about the catholic religion or not, the show is a good time for everyone and it is PG-13.

Performances for Friday and Saturday nights are sold out, but tickets are still available for 2 p.m. Saturday. For tickets and complete information, visit www.middletownlyric.org or call (513) 425-7140.
