Middletown native J.D. Vance to be featured on TV in Japan

J.D. Vance, an author from Middletown, is about to go worldwide.

A TV station in Japan said it’s airing a special on Vance, author of “Hillbilly Elegy,” next month. NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corp.) began producing a weekly show in partnership with TED entitled, “Super Presentation,” which consists of distinguished TED Talks.

The series began broadcasting in April 2012 hosted by Joi Ito, the director of MIT Media Lab.
