Midterm Election Day forecast for the Miami Valley

Midterm Election Day is Tuesday and there is some good and bad news for the forecast.

The good news is we will dry out quickly, but the bad news is that winds will be strong, which could produce some slowdowns on the road.

Voting before work: Rain showers will end before sunrise. Roads will be wet but leaves and ponding could reduce traction for drivers early. Temperatures will actually be on the mild side in the upper 50s.

Voting at lunch: Temperatures will start to drop and winds will pick up. Gusts could range from 30 to 40 mph. The winds will be out of the west/southwest, so be careful driving west or east on I-70 or south on I-75. High profile vehicles may swerve because of strong winds, so leave plenty of space.

Voting after work: It'll still be breezy with wind gusts around 20 to 30 mph. Temperatures will drop quickly, likely into the upper 40s after sunset! Good news is it looks dry for evening voters.
