One of Dayton most-beloved gastropubs is exploding with news, and we're not even sure where to begin.

But for starters, here's 3 reasons why you should make your way over to Mudlick Taphouse next week.

1. A new chef and a new menu!

Executive Chef Liam Hennessy, who formely led Dayton Country Club and Fifth Street Brewpub, is now calling Mudlick Taphouse his new home. And with the change of residency comes a new menu! Regulars of Mudlick shouldn't fret; Chef Hennessy won't be nixing menu favorites, such as the Smales Pretzels and Bier Cheese, with horseradish-dijon), but he will be introducing a menu that is built around pairing  and enhancing the ever-changing craft beer, taps and cocktail selections, owner Jennifer Dean said in a media release. Hennessy said in the release that he describes his style as "taking a basic ingredient and unleashing its full potential."

2. But seriously, about that new menu...

Chef Hennessy's new menu will be released in its entirety Sunday evening, but until then, we can dream of a few of the featured dishes that will be available, beginning on Monday, Jan. 11:

  • Pan-seared Asian BBQ salmon served on a bed of quinoa with sautéed veggies
  • An expanded salad selection such as the DirtyWedge, loaded with tomato and bacon and drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette & bleu cheese dressing
  • The Pot Roast Sandwich, a classic slow cooked roast with melted cheddar featuring sautéed onion and carrot with a garlic herb aioli.

Dean said in the release that Chef Hennessy aims to keep things simple, using fewer ingredients while maximizing flavor.

3. The new menu is available during every Boozy Brunch on Saturdays

Attending Mudlick's famed Boozy Brunches (every Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) won't mean you'll miss out on Chef Hennessy's fresh, new menu. Of course, you won't want to miss out on the Build Your Own Bloody Bar, with house pickled veggies & cured meatsfeaturing Belle of Dayton Vodka. It's a Bloody Mary unlike any you've ever tasted!
