New Butler County swim school plans free preview

Goldfish Swim School of West Chester expected to open later this summer.

UPDATE, Aug. 17:

A grand opening for the public will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Goldfish Swim School.

This free event will include an open swim, facility tours, snacks, games and raffles.

INITIAL REPORT, Aug. 2:

A water safety and swim lesson school offering infant and child swim lessons, is constructing new 10,000-square-foot location in West Chester Twp..

Goldfish Swim School of West Chester is expected to open later this summer at 7058 Ridgetop Drive and offer a wide range of swimming classes for all ages and skill levels.

Established in 2006, Goldfish Swim School provides swim lessons and water safety instruction to children ages 4 months to 12 years-old with a maximum class size of a 4-to-1 student-to-teacher ration, according to the business.

Mandy Yackey, owner of the West Chester location, said she is excited to introduce this new resource to Cincinnati-area families.

“I grew up in this community and I know how important swim and water safety is to local families,” Yackey said. “The Goldfish Swim School model is the best one out there and I am excited to bring the curriculum and systems to our brand new, state-of-the-art swimming facility here in West Chester.”

In addition to swim lessons, Goldfish Swim School of West Chester will offer weekly family swims for both members and non-members, plus party packages.

The new West Chester Twp. addition will joins five other Goldfish Swim School locations in Ohio. As construction of the facility continues, Goldfish is also actively seeking to fill positions for certified swim instructors, deck supervisors, lifeguards and customer service roles.
