New charge filed against Trotwood teen accused in 2 rape cases

A hearing has been set for March to determine if the case against a 16-year-old male, accused of raping two women at gunpoint in Trotwood, will be transferred to adult court.

The teen made an appearance in front of Montgomery County Juvenile Court Judge Helen Wallace Tuesday morning, a day after a motion was filed by the prosecutor’s office to have the cause moved to adult court.

A probable cause hearing  for the case to be bound over to adult court was set for March 15.

The teen was also ordered in Tuesday’s hearing to remain in the custody of the Juvenile Detention Center.

The 16-year-old is also facing a new charge of aggravated trespass and voyeurism, in addition to the initial charges of rape, kidnapping, aggravated burglary, and aggravated robbery.

He reportedly raped a 24-year-old and 34-year-old at gunpoint on two separate occasions in early December, according to police.

DNA evidence left at the scenes led to the teen’s arrest, according to Trotwood police.
